Introduction

As most Nerfers know, it's a thrill to buy a new Nerf gun, test it out, and learn its strengths and weaknesses. You never forget the rush of your first accurate shot. And, of course, whether you're a newb, or a veteran with years of experience, you know the main point: Fun. It's fun to challenge yourself and other, to get out frustrations with foam darts. And it's just as fun to meet up with other Nerfers, start a team, and eventually compete (and win) in Nerf wars.
I understand all of that. I hope that this blog will help you find what you need, be it advice, training help, partners, fellow Nerfers, etc. I cannot, however, help with modding. YET.
So, as a first step, I'm going to introduce myself. My name is Jasmine. My codename is Mockingjay. I'm a teen girl. Don't let that dismay you, I've been a nerfer for almost 10 years now, and I can teach my older brother (19) some stuff he didn't know in his 14 years or so.
Don't believe me yet? March 13, 2013, I got a Nerf N-Strike Elite Triad EX-3. We went back to the hotel room at Nickelodeon, and within 5-10 minutes, I was able to shoot a thumbtack on the wall from about 3 yards away.
When you use a Nerf gun for a while, you learn its characteristics: Whether it shoots above or below where you aimed, and how much, so you get a more accurate shot every time. I, when breaking in a new gun, find a relatively big target, like a 12x24 in. thing on the wall and shoot at it from 3 ft. away. Then I find something smaller, and smaller, until I can hit a thumbtack. Then I move farther away. Once I think I'm good, I shoot at my little brother, because he runs when he sees me aim at him.
What about you? How do you break in a new gun?
This process can take me anywhere between 10 minutes (rough break in) to a day (if I want to be absolutely sure I'm okay), and the darts are always missing in a week, as a result of guests or my siblings. Currently, I need to get a refill package :)
For future reference, things I'd like to hear about from you are in BLUE, suggested training activities are in RED, Sponsored Nerf wars or meetups are in GREEN (to get me to announce these, just ask), and Shout-outs are in some random shade of PURPLE.
One last thing, before I go to the real first post: It really would help if, if you like this blog, you recommend it to a friend.
Let me explain, quickly: I base my success in this blog in FEEDBACK from readers, COMMENTS from readers, and VIEWS from passers-by
See you next time!
